摘要
Nuclear DNA contents were measured in eight species of Peperomia (2n = 22, 33, 44, 66). Formaldehyde fixations show more reliable results than those with acetic alcohol, The diploid species vary significantly in chromosome size and DNA-content. Increasing chromosome length is directly correlated with increased DNA-amounts/chromosome in all the species except in triploid P. metallica. Polyploid species have increased DNA-values.
