THE ORGANIZATION OF ASSISTED MEDICAL PROCREATION IN FRANCE

While the CECOs, founded in 1973, and which is constituted by 20 centres, are well organised and follow specifically detailed working and ethical rules, the Assisted Medical Procreations, despite the decree of 8th april 1988, concerning them, have not, up to now, found real standards of regulation. Two causes are the most frequently forward: the oodess of the Minister of Health concerning the planification of approved centers, and the fact that the system may remain immobile because of this interference of the administration. While waiting for a law which would establish working rules, neither reports nor projects have been lacking, whereas in United Kingdom, Spain and Germany, these problems have been solved with varied success.
