Depending on the amount of damage, coke-oven wall repairs can range in scope from spraying and patching, brickwork panel patches, and end flue replacement to complete thruwall replacement. Oven conditions considered While a repair is made are hot idle, hot operating and cold. The major problems and solutions discussed with a hot repair are the integration of new and old brickwork and the control and compensation for expansion. Approximate cost estimates for an end flue or thruwall repair vs a complete rebuild are given.
