摘要
Ultraprecision diamond cutting technology is now recognized as one of the most important manufacturing technologies to produce key components of advanced optical and mechatronic products. The present paper reviews recent developments in experimental research on ultraprecision cutting which include fundamental studies on chip formation, surface characteristics, cutting force and cutting temperature. New areas of application of ultraprecision cutting technology, such as for the cutting of brittle and hard-to-machine materials, are also discussed.
