SYNTHESIS OF AROMATIC POLYESTER-SILOXANES USING 1,3-BIS(PARA-HYDROXYPHENYL) DISILOXANES AS DIOL COMPONENTS

摘要
The authors describe the synthesis of 1,3-bis(p-hydroxyphenyl) disiloxanes and their polycondensation to form polyester-siloxanes. 1,3-Bis(p-hydroxyphenyl) disiloxanes could be easily obtained by the condensation of p-(pyranyloxy) phenyl-silanol prepared by the reaction of p-(pyranyloxy)phenyl magnesium bromide with dichlorosilanes. The polycondensation to form aromatic polyester-siloxanes was carried out by two methods. Aromatic polyester-siloxanes were obtained by both methods in relatively good yields. The molecular weights of the polyesters prepared by method B were slightly higher than those by method A as shown by their GPC and viscometry.
