摘要
Violent conflict is highly damaging for human security and the entire fabric of regional society. Individuals and groups confront situations that are unpredictable, threatening and impoverishing in material and cultural terms, and many communities are dislocated and de- territorialised. But conflict and instability do not in themselves constitute useful points of departure for the analysis of post-conflict situations. In this contribution I seek to highlight which actors, social relations and constellations of power come to prominence in the aftermath of violent conflict; examine the tensions arising from the different meanings given to ‘recuperation and investigate the spatial practice of social actors taking part in processes of recuperation. This contribution builds on an ongoing fieldwork study in a province of the Peruvian Central Andes. © 1997 European Association of Development Research and Training Institutes.
