摘要
A survey of high-cycle fatigue data for commercial β-titanium alloys was conducted to rationalize the wide variations in fatigue resistance even at similar tensile-strength levels. It was found that fatigue behavior, especially the endurance limits, for various alloy compositions can be roughly grouped into three classes on the basis of processing, heat treatment, and resulting microstructure. The implications of such classification on microstructure control for increased fatigue resistance is discussed.
