The test samples of silicon high-voltage multi-junction solar batteries (SHVMJSB) are investi- gated experimentally. It is shown that the efficiency of the transformation of sunlight by silicon high-voltage multi-junction solar batteries without special antireflection coatings is not high and equal to 8%. It is due to the fact that the recombination rate of the minor charge carries is high on the damaged layer surface. The sur- face refinement and the antireflection coating make it possible to increase the efficiency of the transformation of sunlight by the silicon high-voltage multi-junction solar batteries of up to 13%. © Pleiades Publishing, Ltd., 2011.
