摘要
Adherence to topical treatments for atopic dermatitis (AD) is poor, despite their effectiveness in managing the disease. As a result of nonadherence, the benefits of AD treatments are often not fully experienced. Nonadherence is typically associated with a poor understanding of AD and its treatment options, and is further compounded by arduous treatment regimens. Fostering relationships between patients and healthcare professionals built upon trust and strong communication appears to be a highly effective means to overcome these barriers, and should be maintained throughout all stages of AD. © 2017, Springer International Publishing AG.
