Semiconductor nanohelix in electric field: A superlattice of the new type

摘要
The electron properties of semiconductor nanohelices occurring in an external electric field have been theoretically studied. It is shown that, under the action of the field, the nanohelix acquires the properties of a superlattice with field-dependent parameters. In particular, a region of negative differential conductivity appears in the current-voltage characteristic of the nanohelix, which allows it to be used as a tunable generator and amplifier of high-frequency signals.
