The thermal decomposition of sodium ethyl xanthate (SEX) was used to compare the techniques of pyrolysis-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (py-GC-MS), thermogravimetry-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (TG-FTIR), and TG-MS.
