This paper examines the existing shortcomings of safety systems at hydropower plants (HPP). Based on process diagrams of process signaling and protection systems (SPS) and the Aand B rules presented in the article, this paper urges to create industry regulations for SPS implementation. © 2023, Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature.
