摘要
It is shown that the overheating of a melt by 150°K over the liquidus curve and a cooling rate of 102−104 °K/sec favor the formation of a homogeneous finely divided eutectics in Fe–B alloys with boron contents of 2.0–4.5 wt.% and inhibit the appearance of primary crystals of iron in hypoeutectic alloys and Fe2B boride in hypereutectic alloys. It is established that, under these conditions, Fe3B iron boride is formed in the eutectics. This improves the mechanical and corrosion properties of these alloys.
