摘要
The aim: The present study aims to conduct a descriptive analysis by reviewing in vivo and in vitro studies concerned with the effect of the lasers in caries detection in primary and permanent teeth. Materials and methods: The PubMed and Google Scholar had been used to search for articles that focused on the effect of lasers in caries detection in primary and permanent teeth. This literature research was limited to 38 years (January 1980–January 2018). Results: Regarding the effect of lasers in caries detection, caries lesion can be significantly diagnosed and detected by using 655 nm DIAGNOdent laser (laser fluorescence device (LFpen)). Conclusion: The 655 nm DIAGNOdent laser is an effective adjunctive tool to detect and diagnose a caries lesion in primary and permanent teeth. © 2019, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
