摘要
Increase in strain rate can shorten the mechanical response time of the shale and modify the stress-strain curves into linear form. The anisotropic strength and elastic modulus of the shale generally increased as the strain rate increases.Failure mode transform from shearing failure at low strain rate to combination of tensile split and shearing failure at high strain rate.
