The problem of the interaction of a plane acoustic wave with a liquid sphere located on the axis of a rigid cylinder filled with a compressible fluid is solved. A measure of interaction is the radiation force: the time average of the integral of the liquid pressure over the sphere surface. To determine the potential of the velocity field, the problem of the diffraction of a wave by the sphere and the inside surface of the cylinder is solved. The case of a rigid spherical particle is considered as an example, for which the radiation force and the frequency of the incident wave are correlated © 2013 Springer Science+Business Media New York.
