A problem of the linear theory of viscoelasticity for an orthotropic body with a crack under plane strain is solved. The expression for the viscoelastic opening of the crack is obtained based on the Volterra principle and the method of continued fractions. The safe load is evaluated. The effect of the degree of material anisotropy on the safe-load domain is shown by examples of specific materials.
