摘要
Characteristic white light-emanating novel BaSrGd4O8:Dy3+ nanophosphor was synthesized via solution combustion approach. Orthorhombic-phased crystals with irregular shape and size in the range of 35–54 nm were formed. Qualitative and quantitative elemental analysis was done. When excited by near-UV light, photoluminescence spectra displayed blue and yellow bands at 479 and 570 nm wavelength corresponding to the electronic transitions 4F9/2 → 6H15/2 and 4F9/2 → 6H13/2, respectively. Energy band gap was also determined via Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy. CIE coordinates were found to lie in whitish domain, thus, verified their potential candidature in pc-WLEDs and solid-state lightings.
