Absolute values of the cross section for two-photon one-electron excitation and ionization of the 1s shell of the Ne atom were calculated taking into account the relaxation effect of the atomic core in the 1s-vacancy field. The two-photon excitation and ionization of the inner atomic shell was found to be a many-electron process. The results of the calculations were used for predictions.
