The article studies investment factors responsible for an innovation lull caused by an economic crisis. Different variants of enhancing investment opportunities are considered; they are required for establishing successful competitive activity for the development of new technologies, products, and markets after the end of the lull. The necessity of accepting an evolutionary approach to the development of relations between the real and financial sectors of the economy is shown. Various strategies for using the demand factor in order to overcome the innovation lull are presented. © 2011 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.
