Special Features of Formation of Surface by Selective Laser Melting

Special features of formation of UpSkin and DownSkin surfaces of specimens of refractory alloy EP648 synthesized by selective laser melting are considered. The relation between the laser energy density and the surface roughness and the influence of the slope angle on the surface roughness are determined. The microstructure of the surface of the specimens is studied by scanning electron microscopy. It is shown that the roughness of the UpSkin surface formed by selective laser melting depends on the laser energy density and that of the DownSkin surface depends on the combination of the melting contour parameters (the laser power and the scanning speed).
