Problems and prospects in the development of Russian hydroelectric power

摘要：
The state of the electricity supply sector in Russia is outlined. Factors that may affect the recovery of the hydroelectric power system are described: increased consumption requires further installation of generating capacity; a rise in the cost of generating fuel will increase the cost of producing electricity at thermal power stations. Russian hydroelectric resources that can be utilized economically are listed and the costs of hydroelectric power construction are outlined. The prospects for hydropower development in the Russian Far East are described.
