Based on the concept of the symmetry-group chain, a rigorous qualitative description of the internal quantum dynamics of the phosphorus pentafluoride molecule PF5 is constructed with allowance for its Berry pseudorotation transitions between twenty independent energetically equivalent equilibrium configurations.
