Optimization of Nano-MoS2 Surface Modification and Grafting for Electrodeposition of Ni-Graphene Oxide-MoS2 Composite Coating

The nano-MoS2 hydrophobic surfaces are difficult to disperse in solution, so the previous composite electroplating requires a large number of nanoparticles to realize the preparation of the coating. In order to achieve technological breakthrough, this study adopted the surface functionalization and grafting technologies to achieve the nano-MoS2 grafted onto graphene oxide (GO), and then pulsed electrodeposition (PED) the Ni-GO-MoS2 composite coating. Researches show that polydopamine adhered to the surface of nano-MoS2 after soaking, the functionalized nano-MoS2 was grafted onto GO surface under the action of catalyst. The roughness of composite coating prepared by electrodeposition after grafting (G-coating) is smaller than that of composite coating prepared by direct electrodeposition (nG-coating). Moreover, nano-MoS2 suspended on the surface of nG-coating affects the normal growth of coating. Compared with the loosened of nG-coating, the close-grained of G-coating has better tribological properties.
