摘要
With the increasing application of Internet of Things (IoT) in different aspects of our daily lives, more and more devices and endpoints are being connected to the Internet every day. Experts predict 25 billion or more IoT-connected devices by the year 2020. The challenge for business is to capture, analyze and gain actionable insights from the massive amount of data generated by these sensors and devices. Collecting and processing data from those devices as well as communication with the Internet is a great challenge to cope with. In this work, we have designed a smart IoT gateway that collects, stores, and analyses sensor data at the edge and reduces bandwidth required to send data to the cloud by utilizing lightweight protocols. We have implemented a prototype of the designed model, collected and analyzed real data and the outputs are promising.
