All oxide ceramic multilayer coating for high-temperature thermal energy window

摘要
An intelligent coating as an energy window with great potential for high-temperature energy saving applications is presented. The coating is a multilayer ZrO2/Al2O3 ceramic fabricated by spin-coating onto an alumina substrate (see Figure for a cross-section). By selecting an optimal thickness and number of ZrO2 and Al2O3 layers, the thermal radiation energy entering a substrate at high temperature can be controlled to select the transmission/reflection.
