摘要
Doubly Fed Induction Generators (DFIG) to operate under faulty conditions require a careful investigation to maintain grid stability. Fault Ride Through (FRT) capability is one of such grid stability issue. To improve the performance of the wind farms under faulty condition, advanced superconducting technologies are emerged in the research world. This work mainly focused on the improvement of FRT capability under different fault conditions of DFIG wind farms using FACTS and superconducting technologies. The combined operation of STATCOM and Superconducting Fault Current Limiter (SFCL) is characterized to minimize the effect of faults current and improve voltage profile of grid connected DFIG systems which enhance the voltage ride through capability. Detailed simulation results are conducted for the DFIG based wind power system by including a three-phase fault condition with and without the proposed controllers using MATLAB/SIMULINK platform.
