摘要
A low profile ultra-wideband tightly coupled dipole array with a bandwidth of 14.5:1 is proposed in this paper. A simple unbalanced feed structure that consists of a stripline and a parallel transmission line is employed to excite the tightly coupled dipoles and a resistive sheet is used to broaden the bandwidth. Simulated results have shown that the array can operate from 0.2 to 2.9 GHz with VSWR < 2.5 at broadside, which means an ultra-wideband bandwidth is obtained. It is also worthwhile to mention that the total height of the antenna above the ground plane is 0.083 lambda(L) (the wavelength of the lowest frequency), indicating that the antenna achieves a low profile performance.
