摘要
Spoke array permanent magnet (PM) flux reversal machines (SAFRPMMs), which are suitable for low speed and high torque applications, are able to enhance torque density due to the flux focusing effect. In this paper, what influence both the number of PM per slot and the PM shape have on their electromagnetic performance are investigated. The results show that both the PM number and the PM shape have significant effects on the performance of SAFRPMMs, and proper selections are critical in designing high performance machines. When the PM number per slot is 2, the SAFRPMM exhibits the best electromagnetic performances, i.e., the highest torque, power, efficiency, and power factor. Meanwhile, by properly designing the PM shape, the torque can be further improved by around 11%. A prototype is made and tested to validate the analyses.
