摘要
Using metallography, metallurgical analysis, SEM and EDS, a failed hydraulic press trunk piston was analyzed. The result indicates that deficiencies in material composition are the main reasons for the failure. Because of this the piston eroded to form corrosive pits on the surface in service and the pits were developed into hollows and furrows. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
