The surface selectivity of poly(vinylferrocene) (PVF) deposition on Au polycrystalline electrode has been investigated by using underpotential deposition of lead on PVF partially covered Au electrode as a Probe. The deposition and stripping pattern of lead on evaporated Au electrode that were partially covered of PVF indicates the absence of selective deposition of PVF at polycrystalline gold electrode. This result suggest a simple way to study organic molecule site-selective interaction with polycrystalline metal surfaces by using an analogous approach that we have shown here to be successful with PVF on polycrystalline gold.
