摘要
Phase change materials (PCMs) possess the ability to absorb, store and release thermal energy during phase transitions. Recently, PCMs have attracted more research in the development of energy storage systems. This paper summarises the properties, classification and thermal performance of PCMs. Research and development in the micro- or nanoencapsulation of PCMs to prevent leakage during melting has gained increased research interest. This paper also summarises recent research on the preparation methods and thermal performance of micro- and nanoencapsulation of PCMs.
