Early gastric cancer recurrence is sometimes difficult to diagnose even by protocols using imaging techniques and tumor markers. We report a gastric cancer recurrence diagnosed by the appearance of a Sister Mary Joseph's nodule that illustrates the lack of sensitivity of these methods. We also discuss the proto col we currently follow for these patients.
