摘要
The paper applies contingent valuation method (CVM) to investigate the Chinese public's willingness to pay for climate protection. The results indicate that the Chinese public is willing to pay extra money annually to support the climate policy in reducing GHG emissions. The findings provide valuable information with the Chinese decision makers on how to design reasonable market-based mechanisms to get individuals involved in the solutions to the climate issue, which is critical for the most populous country in the world to contribute to the global efforts on stabilizing GHG concentration and mitigating climate change.
