摘要
The objective occupational burnout of PE teachers in local colleges and universities has had a negative impact on the physical and mental health of PE teachers and has reduced the quality of their work and life, which may even cause psychological disorder among students. The three major factors that lead to occupational burnout of PE teachers in local colleges and universities are the society, colleges and PE teachers themselves. Therefore, a good social support system has to be established in order to facilitate scientization and humanization of management system of colleges and universities. Besides, it is also quite important of PE teachers to improve their ability of mental regulation. Occupational burnout is a concept put forward by American clinical psychologist Frudburg in 1974. He defined it as a state of exhaustion of people in helping profession due to long working hours, excessive and intensive workload. [1]PE teachers' work is coordinated cooperation of complex mental and physical work which is aimed to cultivate people. As a special social occupation, its occupational stigma determines that PE teacher at the grass-roots level is a high-input and dedicated occupation. In addition, the work of PE teachers is done through site instruction and communication with students. Such occupational stigma may cause over-consumption of PE teachers' mental energy during the long-term dedication. Thus, occupational burnout takes place.
