Since the early 20th century, the theory of leadership has been greatly improved. From the first introduced Trait Theory to the recently widely known Transformational Leadership, from individual leadership to team leadership, The leadership theory is still moving on. This article mainly focuses on illustrating the development process of the leadership theory. Combining the traditional leadership theory and the newly developed leadership theory, followership and shared leadership are thought as the new trend of leadership theory.
