摘要
Early pregnancy diagnosis is the basic requirement in goat rearing in order to avoid economic losses and to enhance the production profits achieved by the farming community. Progesterone is regarded as the major hormone for maintenance of pregnancy. Present study was undertaken to estimate the plasma progesterone level during oestrous and early pregnancy in Beetle goats. Progesterone level appreciably gives more reliable and early results. In this regard sixteen Beetal goats with normal reproductive history were flush fed for a period of fifteen days prior to onset of oestrous. The blood samples were collected from all does from the day of onset of oestrous till the last day oestrous cycle i.e. day 0, d 3, d 4, d 5 d 10 and day 20. The blood samples were assayed for progesterone levels in all the animals.
