Measurement of the neutron spin structure functions using polarized electrons and a polarized 3He target:: The SLAC E154 experiment

The SLAC-E154 collaboration has measured in 1995 the neutron polarized structure functions g(1)(n) and g(2)(n) within the broad kinematic range 0.014<x<0.7 and 1<Q(2)<17 (GeV/c)(2), using an incident polarized high energy electron beam of 48.3 GeV and a polarized He-3 target. After describing briefly the polarized deep inelastic scattering Physics and the E154 experimental setup, we will present the E154 experimental determinations of the Bjorken and Ellis-Jaffe sum rules, as well as an estimation of the nucleon spin fraction carried by the quarks.
