摘要
Today there are a number of services with same functional but different combination of non-functional characteristics. In order to select the apt service from the available services, QOS has become an important selection criterion. In this paper an extensive study on QOS based web service selection and composition techniques have been done in order to understand the underlying methodologies used their advantages and disadvantages. This detailed study has helped in identifying the factors most commonly used by researchers in QOS based web service selection and composition. A qualitative analysis in the form of a comparison summary has been done to show the emphasis on these factors. A quantitative analysis was made to confirm the importance of these factors in recent times. In addition, such a study has also helped in identifying the important factors that needs to be considered for a personalized QOS based web service selection and composition, thereby opening plenty of research opportunities in the same.
