摘要
The suspension Jiangyin Bridge with a main span of 1385 m is one of a few bridges in the Chinese mainland with long-term structural health monitoring systems being installed in the end of last century. After operation for several years, the system was found with malfunction in some sensors and data acquisition units. A project to upgrade the system was undertaken by a consortium of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Jiangsu Transportation Research Institute, and the upgraded monitoring system has commenced its trial operation since June 2005. Measurement data including those during a ship-collision accident and a typhoon event have been obtained and analyzed for assessment of the bridge condition and health. This paper reports the preliminary analysis results of monitoring data with the emphasis on: (i) validation of design wind properties, (ii) assessment of expansion joint condition, (iii) evaluation of structural health after a ship-collision accident, and (iv) evaluation of safety indices of bridge components.
