摘要
A series of seven Schiff bases were synthesized by reacting 2-formylphenoxy acetic acid with aromatic amines. The chemical structures of these compounds were confirmed by means of IR and (1)H NMR The compounds were assayed by the disc diffusion method for antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia colt Among the compounds tested, V(1), V(3), V(4) and V(6), exhibited good antibacterial activity, almost equal to that of ampicillin used as standard drug
