This article discusses the phenomenon of fake news in the context of mass media and social network. The article briefly introduces the issue of fake news and focuses on the public media, where control mechanisms for verifying fake news are often lacking. Attention will be paid both to the basic concepts (fake news, mass media, disinformation), as well as a specific example of disinformation that has appeared in the Czech and foreign media. The report involved radical Czech football fans arrested in Kosovo. But what was the truth?
