摘要
Many medical applications are required to transparently access datasets hosted across different domains on heterogeneous infrastructures. Homogenizing the infrastructure to simplify access is unrealistic; therefore, it's important to develop distributed storage that doesn't introduce added complexity. The objective of this research is to investigate a flexible solution that federates data on clouds or grids without changes to the infrastructure. Unlike existing approaches, this method isn't bound to a specific technology and doesn't require additional effort from users to federate the storage infrastructure. As a use case, the authors present a cardiac anatomy workflow that supports diagnostic methods.
