An apparatus for studying metal-gas reaction kinetics at high temperatures

摘要
An experimental apparatus for measuring the kinetics of reactions between metals and gases using the thermogravimetric method at temperatures of 1300-2000 K is described. The high temperatures of the studies are reached due to the use of induction heating of samples. An increase in the sample mass is continuously measured by a helical spring balance with an error of 1 mg. The sample temperature is monitored by an optical monochromatic pyrometer using the blackbody model. The results of the study of the kinetics of the zirconium oxidation reaction in an air-argon mixture at temperatures of 1300-1520 K are presented.
