摘要
This paper presents a novel space vector based PWM scheme with common mode voltage elimination for dual inverter fed five phase induction motor (IM) drives. The voltage vectors switched in the individual VSIs result in constant and equal common mode voltage at both the ends. Thus, in addition to the elimination of resultant common mode voltage across the stator winding, there is no alternating common mode voltages at both the ends of the stator windings. Thus this scheme mitigates the problems due to common mode voltages such as leakage current through stray capacitances of the motor and the consequent damages. Since circulating currents are eliminated, both the voltage source inverters (VSI) can be powered from a single DC source. This scheme also facilitates elimination of auxiliary plane harmonic voltages that can circulate large harmonic currents in a five phase induction motor with distributed windings. The proposed scheme results in higher DC bus utilization compared to the conventional star connected five phase IM, for the same DC link voltage. The proposed scheme is validated by modeling and simulation in a MATLAB Simulink platform.
