摘要
Disposition of weapons plutonium can be performed following the MOX fuel route. Operational waste from the MOX fuel fabrication has to be conditioned with respect to the safe interim storage and final disposal. The cementation of the waste provides a waste product which fulfil all requirements. A proven technique for the cementation process is available. However, due to criticality criteria for final repositories this process is not suitable for the direct disposition of excess plutonium from nuclear weapons.
