摘要
We describe here a few glassceramics, which were developed in our lab for technical applications. Some have been used as fillers in dental cements, some as armour tiles and some are machinable in the bulk. In-vitro and in-vivo tests were conducted in machinable bioglassceramic to establish non-toxicity and bio-compatibility. Calcium yttrium aluminosilicate was found to be stable at high temperatures and isomorphous to hydroxyapatite. It was biacompatible and could be used for plasma-spray coating of metallic components. The glassceramics developed for armour applications were tested and evaluated as targets.
