Thermodynamics and kinetics of condensation on wettable macroscopic nuclei: New results

The thermodynamic and kinetic peculiarities of vapor condensation on macroscopic wettable particles are analyzed for conditions of gradual creation of the vapor metastable state. The formulas for the number of super-critical drops formed, the time of start and the duration of the stage of effective origination of super-critical drops, the width of the droplet size spectrum are considered. The dependence on parameters specifying the properties of condensing liquid and solid wettable nuclei and their interfaces, on sizes of condensation nuclei and their initial number in the vapor-gas medium, on the rate of external formation of the vapor metastable state is revealed.
