Dark matter, massive neutrinos and SUSY particles

Recent experimental observations show that the universe is flat and consists of 27% matter and 73% dark energy. Most of the matter is invisible and of unknown nature. Weakly interacting massive particles (so-called WIMPs) like massive neutrinos and/or particles predicted by Super Symmetry (SUSY) are possible candidates for the dark matter in the universe. The latest developments in this field of research and the possible direct search for WIMPs with earthbound detectors is discussed in this paper.
