The structural, dielectric and the impedance characteristics of a new perovskite ceramic, Ba(Ni1/3Ti1/3W1/3)O-3 synthesized by the solid state reaction method, is discussed. The compound crystallizes in the orthorhombic crystal system and possesses a high dielectric constant and low tangent loss. The Cole - Cole plot and the modified Debye model have been used to analyze the frequency dependence of dielectric constant and loss tangent. The PTCR behavior of the sample suggests its application for thermostat applications.
